MP3 Format

MP3 (MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 Audio Layer III) is a digital audio coding and lossy compression format designed to significantly reduce audio data size by discarding parts of PCM audio data that are less perceptible to human hearing, achieving smaller file sizes.

WAV Format

WAV is one of the most common audio file formats, developed by Microsoft for Windows. It can record various mono or stereo sound information while ensuring lossless audio quality.

FLAC Format

FLAC (Free Lossless Audio Codec) is a free lossless audio compression codec that allows audio files to be compressed without any loss of quality.

OGG Format

OGG is a free, open container format maintained by the Xiph.org Foundation. Commonly paired with Vorbis or FLAC codecs, it has no patent restrictions and is ideal for open-source projects.

M4A Format

M4A is Apple's MPEG-4-based audio format, typically using AAC or ALAC encoding. It offers excellent quality at small file sizes and is widely used in iTunes and Apple Music.

M4R Format

M4R is the iPhone ringtone format — essentially a renamed M4A file using AAC encoding. Ringtones are typically no longer than 30 seconds.
